UCSD East Campus Parking Structure,
UC East Campus Health Sciences Neighborhood, La Jolla, CA
SCOPE OF WORK
The East Campus Parking Structure has over 1,200 parking spaces. It includes a 1,200,000 gallon above ground thermal energy storage tank which was incorporated into the architectural design of the parking structure. The project is LEED Silver certified.
VALUE DELIVERED
Team meetings between the trades allowed Dynalectric to coordinate the design-build project and eliminate any installation scheduling clashes. Dynalectric was able to finish the project on time and within budget.
SOLUTIONS
The specifications required careful planning of systems running vertically through the structure. The concealment of conduit in vertical columns was key to the overall look of this parking structure. A wireless mesh lighting system was delivered for advanced controls.
BACKGROUND
This multi-level structure was built to serve patients and visitors as well as staff. The design of the parking structure reinforces the neighborhood feel of the East Campus. It is located east of Health Sciences Walk, across from the Shiley Eye Center and the Moores Cancer Center.
