SCOPE OF WORK
This renewable energy project was restoration of fire damage to the electrical systems and plant controls of an 18MW biomass power plant. The scope of work included design/build electrical systems for 15kV, 5kV, 480V MCC’s, distribution panels, UPS, fire alarm system and process control system. The control platform is an MTL Distributed Control System (DCS) with redundant processors, 1400 Input/Output (I/O) points and Wonderware HMI front end. The DCS is designed to monitor and control the steam turbine, boiler, fuel handling systems and auxiliary systems. Dynalectric provided a turnkey system including design, configuration, installation, commissioning and training. This biomass power plant consumes 420 tons of recycled wood a day to generate 18 MW of renewable energy.
